John Scott was an eminent New Zealand architect. He was born in 1924 and died in 1992, aged 68. My parents built a Scott house in 1970 and over the last 40 years I have visited and photographed many of his buildings. This has been an absolute pleasure to come across. Bruce & Estelle Martin's house is one of my absolute favourite NZ homes. I first came across their home in an architectural home magazine and showed Mum telling her wow, look at this beautiful home, I'd like to live there one day. She then told me about buying pottery from Bruce & Estelle many years ago and then she told me it was near Ngatarawa, not very far from where my parents live now in Twyford.
